By Theatre
The chapter records four kinds of mission. Each has its own submission flow and its own image rite.
Operations
From Minimal through Absolute, these deployments encompass standard PvE missions as well as Modified Operations enhanced by selected stratagems. Each difficulty tier carries its own measure of risk, reward, and expectation, from routine battlefield actions to the most punishing trials of skill, coordination, and endurance.

Seize Ground, Capture and Control, Annihilation, and Helbrute Onslaught. Astartes clash with Heretic in direct PvP warfare, where victory is claimed through objectives, pressure, and disciplined violence. Each battle tests coordination, individual skill, and the will to break the enemy before they break you.

Fortress or Hive on Normal or Hard. Endurance runs against escalating waves, where defeat is expected by design. The final wave count is the measure of victory, proving how long the line held before it broke.
Read →Helldivers 2Operations
The Emperor's Mandate deployed against hostile worlds, hostile swarms, and enemy war machines. All mapped over to mirror WH40k enemy factions. Each operation is measured by mission completion, squad survival, objectives secured, and the cost paid in the name of the Emperor and holy Terra.

The Image Rite
Every theatre's report is anchored by screenshots. The Cogitator reads each image and extracts the data that would otherwise need to be entered by hand, turning the record of battle into a structured account of the operation. From mission results and enemy forces to performance marks and battlefield evidence, each report begins with the proof carried back from the front.

What is auto-detected varies by theatre, but the common ground:
- Per-player stats: kills, damage, revives, deaths, time alive, score.
- Player class or loadout, where the game displays it (Tactical, Assault, Vanguard, and so on).
- In-game names of every player on the scoreboard.
How Squadmates Auto-Tag
Auto-Linking
When the Cogitator extracts in-game names from a stats screen, it compares them to every registered brother's platform handles:
- Steam Name
- Verified through the Steam Web API when a brother links the account.
- Xbox Gamertag
- Resolved by XUID. The brother sets it once and the Cogitator accepts it forever.
- PSN Online ID
- Self-entered; we cannot verify against Sony, so an exact match is required.
A match becomes an auto-tag: the brother is added to the report as a participant, their class is set, their stats are attached. No match prompts you to search by hand and select the right brother.
The Moment You Submit
What Gets Credited
A filed AAR fires several ledgers at once, turning a single battle report into credit, record, and consequence. The Cogitator tallies the operation, updates the warrior’s service history, feeds the relevant leaderboards, and carries the result into any connected oaths, commissions, or Crusade systems.
- Throne Geld
- Credited by difficulty, performance and outcome. See Commissions for how geld feeds rank.
- Oath progress
- Every active oath the report matches ticks one step toward fulfilment. See Sworn Oaths.
- Crusade contribution
- Pressure pulses are applied to the front per theatre: tactical, purge, recovery, fortification, zeal, command.
- Stats & mission log
- A permanent entry on your record and every tagged brother's. Reversible if a Sergeant later denies the report.
- Leaderboards & Announcements
- Once your AAR is filed, a dispatch is sent across the Vox-Net to mark the deed, and the annals of Nihilus reflect your climb through the leaderboards.
If A Report Is Denied
Approval & Reversal
Most AARs file and apply immediately. A Sergeant or ranking officer may review and deny a report that looks fabricated, that uses a doctored image, or that contains stats the Cogitator could not verify. Denial reverses every credit applied at submission: geld is clawed back, oath ticks are removed, crusade pressure is withdrawn, the mission log entry is rolled out.
Honest reports are not denied. File what you played; if a stat looks wrong because the Cogitator misread the image, fix it before you submit, or ask a Sergeant to amend it after.
Finally, it should be noted that Imperium Nihilus does track your involvement on the Discord. Should it be found you are not working with the Community, reports will begin to be ignored.
Common Questions
FAQ
Any brother who was present in the match. You do not have to be the squad lead. The first brother to file the report is the submitter; others appear as tagged participants.
Once one report is filed, the others should not duplicate it. The Cogitator deduplicates by stats fingerprint, but spend a moment in the squad channel to confirm before you file. Duplicates will be viewed with suspicion.
Without screenshots, the Cogitator cannot verify. Ask a squadmate who has them to file. Failing that, the match cannot be entered into the ledger.
If you notice afterwards that the data seems incorrect, ask a Sergeant to amend the report.
The Cogitator will list them as an unmatched name. You can leave them unattached; stats still apply correctly to the tagged brothers. The unmatched player simply does not appear in our ledger.
A few seconds once the screenshots are in hand. Most of the time is the Cogitator's OCR pass; your share is confirming the result and tagging brothers.
