What Is Being Forged

The Long Build

Crusade v2 is in progressWhat you see today is the second-generation Crusade engine, and it is still being built out. The first version has been wound down; the new one ships in slices. Warzones and mandates are live now: you find them in the Objectives drawer on the map. Expect more to land as the campaign progresses.

How Your Reports Move A World

The Six Pressures

Every report you file while assigned is read as up to six pressures, and each one pushes a different part of the world you are assigned to. Open that world on the Crusade Map and its Threat tab shows the three readings they move: Control, the Imperial grip on the world; Integrity, how much of its defences still stand; and Enemy presence, the strength of each foe on its soil.

Tactical
From the result. A victory raises Control, and a defeat still adds a little.
Purge
From kills. A special kill counts as four in Space Marine 2, a melee kill as three in Helldivers 2. It wears down Enemy presence, strongest foe first. Chaos warbands are fewer and harder to kill, so in a standard Space Marine 2 operation Purge against them counts for more.
Recovery
From what you bring back and whom you raise: gene-seed, revives and items found in Space Marine 2; samples, reinforcements and outposts cleared in Helldivers 2. It restores Integrity.
Fortification
From a clean run: little damage taken and no incapacitations. While an enemy stands on the world it bites Integrity with every report, and Fortification is the shield that blunts the bite. In Helldivers 2 only a flawless victory earns it.
Zeal
A small tithe of the whole effort of a Space Marine 2 battle. It feeds the Reclusium, not the world.
Command
Earned when a Space Marine 2 battle serves a Mandate or a sub-crusade. It becomes the Command Points a Commander spends on standing orders.

No pressure is best everywhere. Read the world and bring what it lacks. To thin the enemy on a world, bring Purge: it is the only pressure that cuts Enemy presence directly, and a weaker presence bites Integrity less. To take back a world the enemy holds, bring Tactical as well: the world is ours again when the Imperial grip reaches the mark shown on its Threat tab, and the occupier drags that grip back every day its presence stands, so wins and kills must go together. To keep a world from falling, bring Recovery and Fortification: a world whose Integrity collapses enters its Last Stand, and falls if the line is not restored in time.

Four things make the same report count for more:

The right enemy
Fight the enemy that holds the world. Operations against Tyranids do little or nothing for a world held by Chaos, and the world's dossier on the Crusade page lists the share each operation lands there. PvP matches count as Tactical only, at about half an operation, and only on worlds Chaos holds.
Difficulty
In Operations every pressure scales with it, and Absolute lands six times what Minimal does.
The world's need
Win for Tactical, kill for Purge, recover gene-seed and revive brothers for Recovery, stay on your feet for Fortification.
Multipliers
Your sub-crusade, a Litany, your specialist role, your Chapter's decrees and a Commander's standing orders all push the same report harder.

Common Questions

FAQ

How is the Crusade oath different from an Oath of Moment or a weekly Oath?

A weekly oath is a weekly challenge that is independent from the Crusade. Success or failure has no impact in the Crusade. Whereas the Oath of Moment is a short-window vow to complete a specific, agreed upon directive in the Crusade. Finally, the Crusade oath is the switch for becoming active in the Crusade; it does not have a tick-count target the way an Oath of Moment or weekly Oath does. The three are independent and you may carry all of them.

Do I have to take a Crusade oath?

Only if you want your battles to count in the Crusade. Until you swear the Crusade Oath and take an assignment, your reports put no pressure on any world. Everything else a report earns, your Geld, your record and your weekly Oath, is yours either way. You swear it once, on the Crusade page.

Where do I see the Crusade map?

On the Crusade Map, once you are sworn. It is where you deploy to a world, read the standing objectives, and join a warzone from its row.

Can I see other brothers' assignments?

Yes; the campaign rolls list every active oath and assignment by brother. Useful for finding squadmates pushing the same front.

What happened to the old Crusade view?

The original Crusade engine was wound down so the second version could be built cleanly. Historical records were preserved; the legacy views are no longer linked from the rail. The Crusade you see today is the new one.
